This policy governs our use of personally identifiable information (PII) collected as a part of RTI's Center for Forensic Sciences Continuing Education project.
Purpose of collecting PII and other information
We collect PII during the course registration process for the purposes of registering the end user for web based courses and to provide RTI International’s Center for Forensic Sciences Web Based Continuing Education Project (hereafter referred to as “the project” or “project”) with demographic information.
How PII is collected
PII is collected during the registration process for web based continuing education courses. This is an electronic process, which may involve a third party service provider.
Use of collected PII
PII collected during the registration process is used to process customer service requests, maintain individual training transcripts, and provide updates about the project. Customer service requests which may use PII include but are not limited to: requests for documentation of training records and requests for correspondence. Activities related to updates about the project include, but are not limited to, notification of new courses, updates regarding course availability, and schedule changes.
Information collected during the registration process is only used by project personnel for project administration needs. We do not sell, give away, or in any way distribute ownership, or use of, the collected information to any other party.
Use of other collected information
Other, non-personally identifiable information is collected during the registration process. This information may include the registrant’s state of residence, country, professional title and institution. This information is collected for purposes of demographic reports. Non-personally identifiable information is separated from PII in such reports. The purpose of gathering this information is to better determine the professional training needs of our participants.
